2 Moped Thieves Caught

Hello residents hope you are all doing well,

Yesterday morning 2 of your officers were around ST MATTHEWS ESTATE when they located 2 stolen moped, however one of the mopeds had a bike chain around it the thieves have placed. Officers returned to the station to get bolt cutters and returned to the scene an hour later when they came across 2 youths trying to get rid of the moped. They ran when they spotted the officers and a foot chase began. Unfortunately as close as we got they managed to get away by getting into a block we did not have a key for.

We returned to the stolen moped and hid for several hours till they returned with 4 suspects, once they began hot wiring the moped another foot chase ensued where 2 of the 4 where detained. Their details have been gathered and further investigations will take place. Both owners were contacted about their mopeds and one came to collect theirs.

This is a great step into gathering the suspects as we have more information and can hold people accountable.
